Glad you've made it to the first post. I've been thinking about starting a blog for quite some time now, just wasn't sure what to start with or more importantly, what I should blog about. As I did some research on starting a blog, Bloggers said to choose something you are most passionate about, first thing in mind was Hip-Hop in all its forms.
I originally came from the suburban area of New York where top radio stations like Hot 97, KTU, and Z100 played everything from most up to date songs to the ultimate classics. Some people get tired of hearing how awesome New York is and can be, but it's only because you haven’t experienced its true beauty. Yes, cars honk, buildings are taller than most trees, and the sky isn’t always blue; but artist like Notorious B.I.G, Mary J Blige, Beastie Boys, Jay-Z, A Tribe Called Quest and so many more artist have all blossomed from this concrete jungle.
Hip-Hop has always been a major influence in my life and continues to be.
Hip-Hop gets mistaken a lot for "rap" or for a specific genre of music. However,
Hip-Hop is a community above all.
Hip-Hop isn't solely what songs come out of your speakers.
Hip-Hop is a community that consist of Emceeing, street art, Disc Jockeys(DJ) and B-Boys/B-Girls. This blog is to help both you and I bring the heart of Hip-Hop back. I hope you and I both earn something out of this blog. Until next week.
